VINTAGE 6-10/11 METER LINEAR AMPLIFIER
I bought this at an estate auction along with many ham radio's, CB's and accessories. Looks like an interesting set and I'm hoping someone might want to revive it or maybe it could make a nice addition to someone's collection. There is no maker's label or markings; could be a kit(?), home made or made by a low quantity manufacturer, group or club(?). The amplifier chassis unit is wired and connected directly to what I believe is a power supply chassis beneath.
I
first powered it on with a dim bulb tester and it showed no concerns. I then powered it up slowly on a variac with power, blower and operation on. It began to hum at 30-40 volts and the hum got louder as I increased, so I powered it down, put it on Standby and brought it up again; there was no more hum and the panel lights lit, the tubes were lit and the fan was spinning. I only went up to 90 volts because I knew it had a bad hum when in the Operate position and I didn't want to do any more testing being that something might be wrong. The meter bulbs are burnt out, the left meter is missing the adjuster screw; it's missing 1 rubber foot and the
chassis
power cord holder clip. It weighs 20 pounds. The cabinets measure 9.75"x7" and stacked are 9.5" tall.
There are 29 pictures to look through. Selling as is for refurbishing, parts or as collectible. Thanks!
