The acrylic connector tube inner diameter is only 0.7cm. Most species of ants will fit through this passage hole size, but please double check the size of your ants to make sure they will be able to fit through.

After filling the tube with water, only shove the cotton ball 1/2 way into the tube leaving some of the cotton to hang out like in the photo shown. This will allow water to flow from the cotton ball to the cotton wick inside the capsule and humidify the inside.
* At first the acrylic connector tubes maybe hard to push in or pull out from the base piece & this is normal. Just use a bit more strength.
This item is part 3D printed and part is hand poured plaster, so each will have very, tiny, tiny minor differences or imperfections. It will not interfere with the overall aesthetics or use of the item. What you receive will look very much like just as shown in the photos.
