1972 Summit Series between Canada and the Soviet Union (U.S.S.R.)

Reverse Design
: Canadian artist Joel Kimmel features two hockey players representing Team Canada in the 1972 Canada-U.S.S.R. Summit Series. Set against the team jersey’s iconic maple leaf, which is highlighted in red on the colourized coin, the hockey players are accompanied by the words “THE SERIES  LA SÉRIE” and “50 YEARS  ANS”. On the outer ring, the coaches’ initials and the players’ jersey numbers surround the inner core to represent the spirit of Team Canada.
Obverse Design
: features the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt.
