PAIR Vintage SIOUX Native American Indian Turtle Shell Ceremonial Medicine Dance Rattles
Here is a wonderful pair of vintage Sioux turtle shell ceremonial medicine and dance rattles.  There are tags that say they were made by LIL' FEATHER SIOUX.  The shells (top and bottom) measure roughly 6" x 5" ... not including the fur, handle, etc.  They are 24" long including the handles.  The handles are leather wrapped.  There is rabbit fur around turtle shells and various points on the handles (the fur at the end of the handle with the feathers near the end of the handle is a little sparse).  The one with horse hair at the end of the handle has the horse hair running through a vintage snuff tin ... McPherson Snuff.  They are older and were displayed for many years so they may have some small marks ... though I see nothing alarming.  It is rare to find a pair of these rattles with the long handles.
